Move the records people still need to trust.

Bring useful content and business data into a new system without losing the context that makes it usable.

Inventory before importing

An old system may hold duplicate customers, retired products and attachments with unclear ownership. We begin by identifying the datasets, their owners and the relationships that must survive. A new application should not inherit every historical inconsistency simply because an export exists.

The work can cover field mapping, character encoding, attachment handling, trial imports, duplicate review, URL redirects and reconciliation reports. We discuss what should move, what needs an archive and what your organisation is authorised to retain. Decisions about personal data stay with the responsible business reviewer.

Test Serbian text and identifiers

Use representative Latin and Cyrillic text, diacritics, long names, leading-zero identifiers and mixed date formats. Record IDs need a stable mapping so related orders and documents continue to point to the correct customer. Keep a reviewable record of any transformation.

Make the cutover understandable

Agree the final update window, who stops changes in the old system and how late records are handled. Compare counts and selected complete cases after import. A recovery plan needs more than an old export: it needs a decision owner and a practical route back if an important check fails.

Bring a redacted export, a list of record relationships and the tasks staff must perform the next morning. A migration can be a defined part of application recovery or website redevelopment.
